Where can Heat Pumps be used?

There are several different ways that heat pump technology can be applied:

• Air to air
• Air to water
• Water to water

Air to air is not commonly found in the UK as we tend to use wet systems such as radiators or warm water underfloor heating.

If you are fortunate in having access to open ground, pond, lake or an area where a bore hole can be sunk, then a water to water unit should be considered.

If there are restrictions, then an air to water unit may be the option. By coupling up to exhaust air from a dwelling, the efficiency can be enhanced.
